neverplayleapfrogwithagreek

I’m not entirely sure what “Never play leapfrog with a Greek is supposed to mean” (I have my suspicions), but it’s something my Greek-ish friend Kostas used to say all the time–so if any of our Greek listeners are offended, you can take it up with him.

Unfortunately, the AirBnB on Donjek Road has already been booked.

We’ll have another special Yukon mountain biking vacation offer in the near future. This one will be for our Turkish listeners.

Boogaloo

Thane Phillips, Jesse Devost, Sylvain Turcotte, Chris McNeil and other builders prepare for a trail night on Boogaloo circa 2008.

Before there were American “patriots” with aloha shirts and AR-15s, there were three BOOGALOO-obsessed Yukoners who were also armed to the teeth—but only with handsaws.

This is the story of how Mark Koepke, Jesse Devost and Thane Phillips became the leaders of a BOOGALOO movement that wasn’t scary at all. Except, maybe, for the long-gone overpass on an old cabin.

Apparently, that one’s up for debate.

Starbuck’s Revenge

Builder Anthony DeLorenzo on Starbuck's Revenge in 2023... and doing his Sideshow Bob impression in the Fireswamp about 10 years earlier.

Once upon a time, Whitehorse riders dreamed of better access to the Goat Trail on Mount Mac.

“As you wish…” replied the fearless trio of Anthony DeLorenzo, Alex “Michael Bolton” Sokolon, and Paul Burbidge.

The fairy tale ending is a rough ‘n tumble alpine “bush trail” that offers spectacular views from Fish Lake to the Marge of Lake Laberge.

The three builders (with various alter-egos) and one “Ross River Special” tell the story of how they overcame bugs, bears and bogs to bring you STARBUCK’S REVENGE.

Guest starring (in order of appearance): Sylvain Turcotte, Sideshow Bob, Commander Adama, Fred Flintstone, Prince Humperdink, the Dread Pirate Roberts, Buttercup, Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson, Wilma Flintstone, and Lieutenant Starbuck.
